In most cases we can work with your existing windows. On occasions where we are required to provide replacement sashes, sills or box frames, these will be expertly reproduced in our own workshop. Following a free survey by our carpenter at your property, we will send you a written quotation with a full and detailed breakdown of all work and costs involved. We will propose an installation date and give you an accurate timescale for completing the work. We guarantee that the carpenter you meet during the survey will also carry out the required work at your property and that any special requirements will be understood and taken into consideration. This enables us to give a personalised, flexible and consistent service to all our clients. As part of our complete overhaul & draught proof service, we will:
- Remove staff beads, parting beads, sash cords, sash weights, top and bottom sash.
- Plane both sashes to improve fit as required and paint exposed wood with a quality primer
- Machine route each sash and insert a draught proofing pile
- Replace parting bead with a low drag UPVC extrusion
- Replace all sash cords and fit to each sash
- Lubricate pulley wheels and adjust weights to balance sashes
- Replace staff beads and thread a draught proofing pile
- Realign window furniture as required and check performance
